Thank you to all of my beautiful and loyal clients who have purchased products and services over the year - you are my teaching dream. I wish you a very joyful and heart-filled Christmas and holiday season.
I had not been feeling the holiday spirit this year and wondered if I was going to even bother. As it happened, a very dear friend of mine invited me to San Francisco to look at the Christmas decorations. We found great delight in going to the St Francis Hotel, where we oooo'ed and ahhhhed over a French gingerbread castle inspiring the chef during a recent visit. It weighed 120 pounds, and took 360 hours to create. He created this spectacular miniature version for everyones joy and delight. You can see it here.
Later we watched some ice skaters while we sipped our hot chocolates and laughed about life.
On our next stop we found ourselves walking through a two-story gingerbread house at the Fairmont Hotel. Their chef had built a grand masterpiece. This gingerbread house was built into the wall of the hotel and was a walk through house. It took 120 hours for the engineer support team to design it and 370 man-hours for the chef to create it.
After these special moments my mood shifted dramatically. What a joy to appreciate and acknowledge the incredible gifts these two chefs and their support team created for our pure delight and enjoyment.
If you find yourself short on Christmas spirit or cash, go to your nearest town or city and look at the decorations and start acknowledging the gifts and people that surround you.

All It Takes Is A Gingerbread Castle

I always tune in to the Angels before I write my e-zines. This brings forth the messages and words we need to help create our full and juicy lives.
Today, I heard the word acknowledgement.
What is an acknowledgement?
An acknowledgement is about WHO a person is. A compliment is usually about WHAT the person has or does.
We often get compliments, your hair looks nice today, what a lovely gingerbread house, I like your orange sweater. Compliments feel nice in the moment but don't really touch us in any deep way.
Try this on for size: "You are a good friend to me." (Compliment) vs. "Your deep friendship and generous love has been a rock and sustained me when I needed it the most." Or, "You are a great communicator." (Compliment) instead, "You have a gift with words and know the perfect thing to say to make a person feel good."
Instead of saying to the chef what a delicious looking gingerbread house. (Compliment). Try an acknowledgment, "Your spectacular gingerbread house has restored my Christmas spirit and opened me to childlike wonderment. Your attention to detail is astonishing - thank you for your labor of love."
You will be energized when you give acknowledgments. An acknowledgment speaks to you seeing and speaking to people in a real and deep level. The result is you will find people being more attracted to you.
To this day I can still remember how I felt when I received this acknowledgement. The CEO came out to me at our coaching course and said, "I am incredibly inspired by your presence. You have opened my heart, and your feminine radiance lights up this room". This was over seven years ago, and I still get warm fuzzies recalling it.
During this holiday season if you want to give a true gift, give authentic acknowledgment.
